  2. Outdoor Recreation – Route 66’s desert region provides visitors a wide range of activities: hiking, bouldering, boating, jetskiing, fishing, water skiing, off-road areas, horseback riding, cabin/tent/RV camp sites and star gazing.
  3. Americana Endures on Route 66 – Built by the Fred Harvey Company, El Garces (Needles) and Casa del Desierto (Barstow) are architectural jewels. They have been restored and are registered historic landmarks. Casa del Desierto in Barstow is home to the Mother Road Route 66 Museum and the Western American Railroad Museum. California Route 66 Museum is located in Victorville.
