It is official now- Orlando tops the US cities as the Tourist Destination-2014

orlandoorlandoorlandoorlando

If the latest report by the city tourism officials is any indication, more than 62 million visitors came to Orlando last year, making the theme-park mecca the most-visited tourist destination in the U.S.

The 2014 visitor count is a new sign for the U.S. tourism industry which shows a 5% increase from the previous year, according to local tourism agency Visit Orlando.

“A significant achievement for Orlando and the U.S. travel industry,” this is what the U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow has said in this regard.

Orlando had about half as many international visitors.

The Orlando tourism boom is widely regarded as the outcome of two aspects like renovations and expansions at the area’s many theme parks. Universal Orlando opened Diagon Alley, its second Harry Potter-themed attraction. Walt Disney World completed New Fantasyland.

The tourists contributed $200 million in the sphere of tax collections from hotel for Orange County in 2014.
