Cal-a-Vie in Vista spa

travel lei mahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_%2B_Leisure

The North County spa Cal-a-Vie was ranked as the fourth best destination spa in the U.S. Wednesday byTravel + Leisure magazine readers.

Cal-a-Vie, on Gopher Canyon Road in Vista, offers 32 Mediterranean-style villas spread over 200 acres. According to its website, the 30-year-old spa “combines luxurious European spa philosophies with the California concepts of fitness, health and nutrition.”

The top-ranked U.S. destination spa was the New Life Hiking Spa in Vermont.

The ranking was part of Travel + Leisure’s 2016 World’s Best Awards, compiled from a reader survey of top cities, hotels, airlines and cruise operations. Readers were polled between November and February.

For destination spas, readers were asked about accommodations and facilities, treatments, service, food and value.

The Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe was rated the 50th best hotel in the world, the 15th best in the U.S. and fourth in California.

The winners in those hotel categories were the Nihiwatu hotel in Sumba, Indonesia; The Lodge at Glendorn in Pennsylvania; and the Farmhouse Inn in Sonoma County, respectively.

No other area hotels were on the list.

San Diego also missed out on a list of the top 10 U.S. cities. San Francisco, at No. 6, was the only California municipality included. The top- ranked city was Charleston, South Carolina.

San Diego No. 1 Destination for Fourth of July

We the  promptbuscharters.com can offer professionally competitive package of trip to you to the city of San Diego

san-diego 2

San Diego tops the list of Fourth of July holiday destinations for Southern Californians this year, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California’s travel forecast

The city came in No. 1 in a survey of AAA travel agents, followed by Las Vegas, San Francisco, Santa Barbara and Yosemite.

It is expected to be the biggest July 4th travel weekend on record since 2002, according to the Southern California division of AAA.

More than 3 million Southern Californians are planning to go out of town over the Independence Day weekend, according to the travel forecast, topping the total who traveled in 2015 by 1.3 percent.

Most travelers will be hitting the road, while 20 percent plan to fly, according to the Auto Club.

“Lower gas prices have put some more disposable income in travelers’ budgets and have also lowered average airfares, encouraging more trips this holiday season and throughout the summer,” said Filomena Andre, the Auto Club’s vice president for travel products and services. “We’re also seeing more travelers willing to spend a little extra on credit with a growth in consumer confidence.”

The Auto Club’s forecast was conducted by IHS Global Insight with historical travel data provided by DK Shifflet, which measures consumer travel.

The latest results of its 2016 World’s Best Awards, released this week, represents a who’s who of the hospitality world. Properties range from an equestrian retreat in South Carolina to an “industrial chic expedition” property in Chile. Rancho Valencia is ranked at No. 50 among the top 100 hotels worldwide.

The rankings are based on a survey of Travel + Leisure readers who were invited to offer their opinions on a wide variety of categories, from airlines and cruise ships to hotels and tour operators, based on defined characteristics provided by the magazine and its digital marketing firm partner, Wylei. The Rancho Valencia, like other hotels, were graded on such criteria as location, rooms and facilities, food, service and value.

“The World’s Best Awards survey results provide an eye-opening window into what the most sophisticated travelers find both exciting and fulfilling right now,” said Travel + Leisure Editor Nathan Lump. “They are seeking out the unusual and the special, this year showcasing an obvious preference for far-flung, exotic, active, and adventurous trips. Even their favorite places closer to home show a desire for discovery and a willingness to explore and try new things.”

The 45-acre Rancho Valencia, located in Rancho Santa Fe, underwent a $30 million renovation a few years ago and has been winning accolades from multiple travel-rating sources since then. Among Travel + Leisure’s ranking of top resort hotels in the continental U.S., Rancho Valencia came in at No. 15. No other San Diego County property made the list.

Travel + Leisure’s 2016 ranking marks the first time Rancho Valencia has catapulted onto the world’s best hotels list, although it has been among the top U.S. hotels in the past.

Rancho Valencia’s ownership team consists of Qualcomm founder Irwin Jacobs’ family, including brothers Jeff, Hal, Gary and Paul, as well as entrepreneur and co-founder of Fiji Water, Doug Carlson; and San Diego real estate developer Jeffrey Essakow.

US border guards to demand social media details from travelers

fb

British travelers might soon be required to provide their social media details to US border guards prior to entering the United States. The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has decided to examine the Twitter and Facebook accounts of people who look forward to attaining an Esta (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) or a Visa.

The process of handing over this kind of information is purely optional for travelers. However, most of the travelers might feel obliged to go ahead and do this duty, fearing the refusal of entry into the US.

Travelers would be asked to specify what the different social networking platforms they utilize regularly are. In addition, they would also be asked to mention their ‘identifier’ or the username that is registered with these social media sites.

If such a proposal by the Homeland Security is successful, then the US border guards would make it mandatory for travelers to make use of it in the online as well as paper visa application forms. This proposal would be applicable for the people who desire to reside in the US for a period exceeding 90 days.

The information of the social media platforms of travelers would be greatly beneficial and significant to the US Department of Homeland Security. This department would be capable of utilizing the information to keep track of different kinds of criminal activity and go about the investigation processes with increased clarity.

The US government would be considering the feedback of the travelers till 22nd August before the proposal is finalized completely.
