You will find here in the main laboratory building of the IBM Watson Research Center is located in Yorktown Heights. it is interesting to note that the Tech Valley is the marketing name for the eastern part of New York State, including the Hudson Valley and the Capital District.
It has started in 1998 to promote the greater Albany area as a high-tech competitor to regions such as Silicon Valley and Boston, and has just grown to represent the counties in New York between IBM’s Westchester County plants in the south and the Canadian border to the north.
You will find the Tech Valley encompassing of 19 counties locating between both sides of the Adirondack Northway and the New York Thruway.

Armchair Travel Series: Ice Boating on the Hudson River Then and Now February 6: An exciting afternoon of traveling the Hudson River by ice from the comfort of your chair. The Friends of Clermont join the Olana Partnership to explore the subject of ice yachts on the Hudson River. Brian Reid from Hudson River Ice Yacht Club will present historical photos of ice boats, and set up his wooden ice boat for viewing. 19th Annual Chili Bowl Fiesta: February 27: Over 700 bowls and tumblers handmade in the Women’s Studio Workshop’s ceramic studio on sale. Fill with chili donated by favorite local chefs. The collaboration that makes the Chili Bowl possible surpasses what the average attendee might expect. Preparation for the event brings together WSW staff and interns, students, and volunteers of all ages. Over 50 volunteers—from professional potters to individuals with no prior experience at all—make bowls for the event. WSW hosts Community Bowl Day, which give families, children, and inexperienced potters the opportunity to create bowls with assistance from interns and volunteers. A unique ceramics community has grown out of this collaborative atmosphere. When you walk into the ceramics studio during Chili Bowl season, you’ll find yourself surrounded by a group of hardworking individuals who are having an absolute blast. Perhaps this is why Chili Bowl has become such a popular event: every bowl is created with dedication, enthusiasm, and warmth.
