Exhibition Hall is home to E Pluribus Unum – Out of Many One, the only exhibition in the world dedicated to telling the story of the United States Congress and the U.S. Capitol.

The US Capitol Building, you will find, is one of the most important, laces here in the Washington DC home to the federal legislative bodies, the House & Senate, and one of the oldest structures in the capitol along with the promptbuscharters.com

You will find the Capital Building is an adept   work of art, in the neoclassical style, and adorned with numerous statues and murals. It is also interesting to note here through the oculus in the center of the rotunda ceiling,  The Apostheosis of George Washington, a painting by Constantino Brumidi, suspended 180 feet above the floor.

You can see around the walls, directly below the 36 windows encircling the rotunda, a series of 19 paintings of American history, made to appear from carved stone.

Its relevance as both a historical building, and a beautiful building, the US Capitol will capture your attention for that matter.

Tours of the Capitol are free, and available Monday through Saturday from 8:50 am – 3:20 pm, except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Inauguration Day.

The point is that you should book your ticket well in advance, by making a reservation here.

If you spend the day at the Capitol, you can enjoy a variety of food at the visitor center, and buy a little something at the gift shop.

Outdoor Capitol Tour of the Grounds

Monday through Saturday – 1 p.m., 50-minute guided tour exploring the Capitol building and grounds, weather permitting. Meet outside of the Visitor Center near the bottom north ramp to the entrance.

Decorating the Corridors of Power: A Look at Constantino Brumidi

30 minute guided tour. Italian-born artist Constantino Brumidi decorated the Senate wing of the Capitol using classical designs and American themes to emphasize the dignity and importance of Congress. This tour is offered Monday through Friday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Monday through Friday 1 p.m., 60-minute program describing four ordinary people who took on the role of freedom fighter and changed the course of civil rights history for generations of Americans. No reservations needed. Get pass at Information Desk.
Exploring the Chambers- 

Find out how to visit the visitor galleries of the House of Representatives and the Senate. This short program is offered at noon, Monday through Friday. .

Capitol Visitor Center Encounter

 

Monday through Saturday, throughout the day,interpreters in Exhibition Hall and Emancipation Hall use hands-on objects to tell a variety of stories about the Capitol and Congress including how enslaved laborers helped build the Capitol, the Dome Restoration Project, civil rights legislation, and the Capitol Rotunda.
