Voices taken from diaries, letters, speeches, songs, and other sources convey the experiences of Alabamians who lived through and shaped the history of these periods.

Just enjoy the museum’s interactive educational resources for children and families in the Hands-On-Gallery and Grandma’s Attic. Here, families and children can dress in period costumes, play with toys from bygone eras, make their own crafts, listen to stories, and much more.

Ready, set, grow! Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to explore the Museum and learn about nature through activities, crafts and stories. $2 per child and caregiver. 10:00 a.m.– noon.

18 – Dr Lee Berger Lecture “Almost Human: The Discovery of Homo naledi”
University of Alabama Museums is bringing Dr. Lee Berger to campus to speak on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the UA Biology Building Auditorium. Admission is free, and seating will be first-come, first-serve.

23 – Living History Festival
Meet and talk to historic figures from the University of Alabama Museum’s and UA’s past as they bring their stories to life. Discover how these important people shaped history and played significant roles in the story of the University. Tours from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. every half an hour.
